1992 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90

1992 Defender 90 - "Willis" - 300Tdi

This is a 1992 Land Rover Defender 90 with the robust 300tdi engine. It’s finished in Land Rover Ardennes green all over, which is a very traditional British color and suits an old British Rover very well. It has very stylish panoramic side windows installed and black Land Rover Boost alloy wheels. Another great reason to have a British Land Rover is under the hood, as the US market was never blessed with the diesel power plants and we all know diesel provides the best torque to get you through or over anything. It's equipped with the sought after 300Tdi engine with a five-speed manual transmission, regarded by many in the Land Rover world as their best ever engine produced and has earned robust reputation over the years. No other 4x4 vehicle has the pedigree and track record like a Land Rover, a Rover of the Land. Not only was it one of the first, but it also remains the world's benchmark off-road vehicle, exhilarating to drive, highly reliable, and simplicity to maintain. It provides high performance on-road with the capability to tackle the worst off-road conditions, in nearly every driving environment the world can offer.

Get it into the rough and tough stuff off road and this Defender really comes into its own. The purpose-built suspension is well controlled and comfortable, but when combined with the all-terrain tires it gives astonishing capability in all conditions. With the Defender's all-wheel drive system, it will get you over or through anything you can't drive around! It's a serious, no nonsense and purpose built D90. It comes equipped with plenty of adventure goodies with rock/tree sliders, a beefy front tubular bumper and winch. It has had plenty of new parts fitted with updated silicone engine hoses, boost pin fitted, new alternator, new power steering pump and a new intercooler. With its classic paint, adventure accessories and unrestored condition, it does show usual marks and blemishes expected of it being a 25+yr old off-road vehicle, which only add to a Defenders true character and charm. The chassis, bulkhead and doorframes are in good condition and all show solid. The chassis/frame has also been previously wax oiled for extra protection against the elements.

The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine in this Defender has 97k miles and runs very well. For reliability in the harshest conditions, there's simply nothing that can beat the 300Tdi engine. Paired with a LT77S 5-speed manual it moves through the gears well and it has no problem running through traffic or cruising at highway speeds. Shift action is tight through the gears, the clutch take-up is clean and with power steering and disc brakes, it feels quite competent on or off the road. It has a great stance and presence sitting on Land Rover 16” Boost alloy wheels wrapped with Cooper Discoverer A/T tires, for an aggressive stance and capable look. All lights, heater, wipers, radio and gauges work, as they should. It has the added luxury of electric power windows, which is very hi-tech for an old Defender. It comes installed with a Red Booster servo clutch kit. This kit makes your driving a more pleasurable experience and reduces the effort you'd normally put in from driving your Defender. No more painful knees or feet when you are stuck in slow moving traffic. Red Booster is a mechanism system that makes it a servo-assisted clutch, making the clutch feel lighter and easier to shift. So, it makes an old Defender just that little more fun and enjoyable to drive. It's a very robust and iconic styling Defender 90. Distinct, intimidating, and genuinely rugged, this Land Rover Defender 90 is the ideal 4x4 to take you on adventure. It's a unique Defender with all the right upgrades to get you out there and to enjoy it out on the trails, mountain roads, sandy beaches or just around town.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Sales Agreement

We import and hand pick each of our rare and unique vehicles based on quality, value and desirability. We strive to provide the most thorough and accurate description of our vehicles. Before you commit to buying a classic and older vehicle please inspect it carefully, view all pictures and videos, ask any questions regarding its age, model, spec, mileage, description, condition etc. To ensure that you are perfectly happy and comfortable with your purchase. These are not perfect, showroom quality or new vehicles, so please don't expect them to be. Vehicles such as original Land Rovers are becoming collectable classics that are full of character and charm, however, they will have age related issues and wear regardless of their condition. We are dealing with vehicles that are over 25years old and whilst we endeavor to give you the accurate information this is not always possible. Prior ownership, history and service items and maintenance to the vehicle is unknown, unless otherwise stated. Old Land Rovers always drip and sweat some fluids, all normal and just the nature of old Land Rover engines and part of Land Rover ownership. We do our best to ensure that your purchase has been accurately described and checked. We provide approximately 50+ pictures, as well as driving, exterior, interior, undercarriage and walk around videos of every vehicle offered for sale. Very few companies provide this much vehicle information or offer this much detail to potential buyers. We spend significant time inspecting and disclosing detailed items on all of our vehicles for sale; however, at the end of the day, we are ultimately not you. The description is an opinion only and should not be considered a complete description of any or all faults; it may not be relied upon, nor taken as fact or otherwise a representation or warranty of any sort. The information provided is solely for convenience. So please study all pictures, videos and information carefully to ensure that you are perfectly satisfied and comfortable with your vehicle purchase. Please note, we do not build or restore vehicles. Vehicles are sold “as is” and “where is” with all faults known/unknown and with no implied warranty. They are original, classic and iconic vehicles; they are not for everyone, they are unrestored vehicles, and we are not a vehicle restoration company. Owning a 25+ year old vehicle requires consideration and reasonable expectations for a vehicle of this vintage and age. We expect you to drive the vehicle in a manner appropriate for its age and condition. By buying a vintage used vehicle, you fully understand the risks and potential issues related to the purchase of a vintage vehicle over 25 years old.

Buyers

Please read the entire description and view all pictures before purchase. Please only purchase if you are completely satisfied with the vehicle and have the funds to commit to the purchase. By placing a bid/offer/agreement on a vehicle we have for sale, you assert that you have read and agreed to our Terms & Conditions and understand the risks of purchasing a used vehicle. Additionally, by signing this document, you enter into a binding contract to purchase the item you have successfully purchased. Your opportunity to negotiate is prior to the sale. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

Payment

Payment methods to complete the sale are cash, certified checks, money orders, bank finance checks, 3rd party loans or bank wire transfer. If you are having the vehicle shipped, full payment must be completed before the vehicle will be released for shipment. Buyers are responsible for their own State taxes, registration and fees associated with the vehicle.

As Is Disclaimer

Both parties acknowledge that the vehicle described under vehicle information is sold “As Is”, without warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied and the buyer has tested and inspected the vehicle to his or her satisfaction. By signing this document, the buyer accepts full responsibility and liability for any repairs incurred following the date of sale, as well as any costs related to vehicle registration, safety certification, State inspection, or transfer of ownership. All risks and responsibilities pass to the buyer once this document is signed.

Deposits, Refunds & Returns

No refunds or returns. All sales are final and are sold “As Is”. All vehicle deposits are non-refundable.

Our vehicles are sold with no warranty: expressed, written, or implied. Vehicle is sold as is, where is.

Shipping & Vehicle Pick-Up

We assume no responsibility for damages incurred once the purchased vehicle leaves our premises. If the vehicle is going to be shipped, full payment must be received before the vehicle will be released to the transport company. Shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed upon during the sale.

Buyer's Inspection

Pre-purchase inspections (PPI) are encouraged and we are happy to help arrange them for a buyer, at the buyer’s expense. The buyer is responsible for all inspection charges and fees. All test drives must be completed prior to final sale. Please ensure that you have inspected the vehicle to your satisfaction prior to final sale. We have made every effort to accurately describe the vehicle under “Vehicle Information” to you. We certify that we have disclosed to you all relevant information known about this vehicle at the time of sale.

Transfer of Ownership

The buyer is responsible for registering the vehicle and for satisfying any applicable local State requirements, including, but not limited to, those relating to vehicle registration, safety certification, State sales tax, local DMV fees, repairs to meet State inspection requirements and transfer of ownership.
