1996 LAND ROVER - DEFENDER 90

1996 Defender 90 - "Saber" - 300Tdi

This 1996 Land Rover Defender 90 has been nicely refurbished inside and out. It’s finished in contemporary Land Rover Santorini black all over. This Defender is an ideal mix of old school strength, blended with a touch of a more modern flair, and this one seems to really pull this feeling off best. It has been updated with modern LED lights, LED HALO Headlights, new Sawtooth alloy wheels and an updated KBX front grill and light surrounds. Which all give this classic a more modern style and is a nice facelift on such an iconic classic. The Defender 90 follows the grand tradition of tough-as-nails Land Rovers, and you recognize it from the moment this one comes into view. It looks ready to take on the toughest terrain. This Defender will be able to take you beyond the trails, but it will also turn heads when rolling through the streets of town.

Another great reason to have a Land Rover built for a foreign country is under the hood. As the US market was never blessed with diesel power plants and we all know diesel power provides the best torque to get you through or over anything. It's equipped with one of the best, the robust 300Tdi engine paired with R380 5-speed manual transmission, regarded by many in the Land Rover world as their best engine produced, and it has earned a tough-as-nails reputation over the years. The 300Tdi 2.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine in this Defender has 123k miles. Paired with the capable R380 5-speed manual gearbox it moves through the gears well and it has no problem keeping up with everyday traffic, or around town or cruising at highway speeds. With bulletproof power and torque for ultimate reliability in the harshest conditions, there's simply nothing that can beat a diesel engine. Shift action is light and smooth with the R380 gearbox, the clutch take-up is clean and with power steering and disc brakes all round, it feels competent on or off-road. No other 4x4 vehicle has the pedigree and track record like a Land Rover, a Rover of the Land. Not only was it one of the first, but it also remains the world's benchmark off-road vehicle, exhilarating to drive, highly reliable, and simplicity to maintain. It provides high performance on-road with the capability to tackle the worst off-road conditions and in nearly every driving environment the world has to offer.

The updated exterior also means a well-matched interior. It has well-presented fundamentals, including Exmoor Trim interior carpeting, new vinyl front seats with white edge stitching, suede headliner, chrome gear knobs, chrome grab handles and an elegant wood rim steering wheel. The cargo bay offers enough room for storage and for extra passengers. It comes with bench seats with lap belts in the rear and a nice Land Rover logo floor matting. Factory gauges cover the basics and the controls. The control levers manage the 5-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer case/hi-low range, plus with extra USB charging ports and voltmeter gauge. There's a center cubby box between the seats with cup holders. It rides on Land Rover 16" Sawtooth alloy wheels wrapped with A/T tires for a capable and aggressive stance. All lights, heater, wipers, and radio work, as they should. The chassis, bulkhead and doorframes are in good condition. Equipped with power steering and disc brakes all round reminds you that go-anywhere also means being easy to drive and more importantly enjoyable when you’re behind the wheel. This is a legendary 4x4 that has both style and substance. So, if you want to go anywhere and look great doing it, this is the Defender to have. It's a stylish and modern take on a classic Defender, with all the right upgrades to get you out there and to enjoy it on the trails, mountain roads, sandy beaches or just around town. Overall, this is one contemporary and stylish Defender 90 ready to be enjoyed.

    1996 LAND ROVER - DEFENDER 90

    1996 Defender 90 - "Forest" - 300Tdi

This is a 1996 Defender 90, with the very sought after 300Tdi engine and R380 manual 5-speed gearbox. Finished in quintessential Land Rover Coniston green with a white roof and with vintage “DEFENDER” side decals. It’s a right-hand drive, true to form British example, full of character and charm. Not often do we stumble upon a time capsule of a Defender 90 like this. The reason for Land Rover's success is obvious, a Land Rover, unlike any other vehicle, gives its occupants a sense of adventure. You really do feel as though you could go anywhere and do anything. It's a classless vehicle too and is equally at home in the urban streets, adventure trails or in the wilds of Africa. Any Land Rover model is now recognized across the globe and over time the original has proved to be the most versatile of all vehicles - you name it, and a Land Rover Defender has probably done it. This vintage classic is ready to be enjoyed regardless of whether you take it on the streets or get it dirty on the trails. It's a very quintessential British and iconic Defender 90. Distinct, intimidating, and genuinely rugged, this Defender 90 is the ideal 4x4 to take you on any adventure.

Another great reason to have a Land Rover built for a foreign country is under the hood. As the US market was never blessed with Land Rover diesel power plants and we all know diesel power provides the best torque to get you through or over anything. The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine in this Defender has 120k miles. It runs and drives exceptionally well. For reliability in the harshest conditions, there's simply nothing that can beat the 300Tdi engine which is paired with the capable R380 5-speed manual gearbox. It’s a lovely combination that moves through the gears well and it has no problem running through traffic and it can cruise at highway speeds. It provides high performance on-road with the capability to tackle the worst off-road conditions, in nearly every driving environment the world can offer. It has gone on to prove itself as one of Land Rovers most reliable and trustworthy engines ever produced. With driving comforts of power steering, coil spring suspension and disc brakes all round, reminds you that go-anywhere, also means more enjoyable when you’re behind the wheel.

Inside it’s as simple as you'd expect for an old Land Rover, with grey Exmoor Trim Techno cloth seats up front and rear forward-facing seats with 3-point seat belts in the cargo area (rear bench seats can be installed if preferred). Factory gauges cover the basics and the controls with the levers to manage the 5-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer case/hi-low range in easy reach. It’s been nicely refurbished inside featuring full Lucari carpet set, sound deadening insulation, center cubby box with cup holders, updated chrome gear knobs, chrome “DEFENDER” grab handles, and an elegant Mountney dark wood rim steering wheel. Making it a very vintage, British, and iconic styling Defender 90. The rear cargo bay offers enough room for storage and for extra passengers. All lights, heater, wipers, and gauges work, as they should. On the outside it sits on Land Rover 16” Freestyle alloy wheels wrapped with Insa Turbo A/T tires which gives it some classic styling. Up front your also covered with a front bull bar, updated LED Halo headlights and a beefy front steering guard. The chassis, bulkhead and doorframes all show in very good condition. The frame has benefited from being stripped down and undersealed for extra protection against the elements. Don’t let its classic patina fool you, as it benefits from a recent mechanical, suspension, brake, and cooling overhaul with many new components. Some of the work includes all new shocks, springs, new brake calipers, new radiator, new oil intercooler, with the list ongoing. This truck also comes with a folder with a lot of maintenance history and service records, with all the invoices and receipts to indicating a very sound and well taken care of Defender. So, you have that vintage style but with a fresh mechanical overhaul. With its classic paint and mostly original condition, it does show usual marks and blemishes expected of it being a 25+yr old vehicle, which only add to a Defenders true character and add to their charm. However, this Defender 90 has timeless appeal, so you get the traditional robustness with some of the best rugged style. Overall, this is one rugged, genuine, and quintessential British Defender 90 ready to hit the roads, trails, safaris, beaches or wherever your adventures may take you.

1983 LAND ROVER - SERIES III

        1983 Series III - "Hugo" - Soft top - 2.25 Gas

This is a 1983 Land Rover Series III (88), and it can do it all. We are delighted to present this handsome Series III for sale, it's the last model year before the introduction of the 90/110 and Defender models which were introduced in 1984 to present. The last of the last of the classic Series Land Rover model line. This 1983 Land Rover Series III is a 4x4 worthy of its go-anywhere heritage. A Series III like this is an unmistakable part of that lineage. No matter if it's a Rolls Royce, Jaguar or a Land Rover, everyone always loves the look of a British car in right-hand drive. So, you'll love the looks you get when getting out of the "right" side. This one looks ready for adventure at a moment's notice, with removable half doors, canvas soft top and a fold down windscreen. It's finished in a vintage Land Rover Pastel green and accented with a tan canvas soft top and Limestone steel wheels to finish off that vintage look. That's what makes this ole 1983 Land Rover so appealing. It stands out for the way it retains the look of a true explorer, right down to the details. Owning a classic 4x4 like this means getting the style just right. It carries that iconic Land Rover look, clean, sharp, and rugged.

It has an iconic feel with the thin, robust steering wheel, tall gearstick, retro gauges and proper red and yellow levers for four-wheel drive/low high range and freewheeling hubs. You can sit three across up front in individual-style seats. The rear compartment will accommodate several passengers or a ton of cargo, complete with two rear bench seats with lap belts. It looks highly original but has been wonderfully refurbished to a very high standard. It has been completely disassembled and been resprayed in its original and correct Land Rover Pastel green. The wheels have been sandblasted and sprayed in Limestone color. This Land Rover has all the right extras possible with Fairy overdrive (5th gear), freewheeling hubs, and more luxurious County Trim spec interior with door cards, door arm rest and cloth trim seats. On paper, the Land Rover Series III makes little sense. Yet, as an experience and automotive icon, nothing comes close; the undiluted spirit of adventure oozing from the panel gaps is second to none. The 2.25-liter "petrol" (gas) engine in this truck stays with the simple and reliable theme and is part of the robust tradition of durable Land Rover power. The 2.25L Rover 4-cylinder petrol (gas) carbureted motor starts well with a little choke, pulls the truck beautifully, and has a very smooth idle. Being a gas engine it's very quiet, unlike its diesel counterpart which can be rather clunky and noisy. It idles lovely and purrs like a kitten, just like a finely tuned gas engine should. Power flows back through a 4-speed gearbox with Fairy overdrive (5th gear), as well as a fully synchronized gearbox. The Fairy overdrive is a wonderful addition, acting like a 5th gear and dare I say it can cruise at 65mph on the highway, tried and tested! This one shows all the right signs of a good investment in keeping it looking stock and well maintained. This truck shows just 64k original miles. It's undergone a nice tune up with a fresh oil and filter change, new ignition leads, ignition coil, spark plugs, updated electronic distributor, all making it tick over nicely. To keep its heritage, it also comes complete with its original owner’s manual, service logbook, service records, all documenting many years of service history. So, you have a strong-running package that upholds the tradition of the hearty Land Rover Series vehicles. These have a fabulous vintage style and feel, right down to the solid sound of the doors closing. The adage “they don’t make them like they use to” sure rings true here with this classic.

The interior is pure substance over style, combining the Land Rover's utility and purposeful look with a few useful amenities to make it manageable in the modern world. The accommodations are bare because luxury was a luxury you couldn't afford in the middle of nowhere when on an adventure. Reliability was paramount and as a result, the interiors were made of durable, easy-to-maintain materials that would wear like iron. All the necessities are there, including comfortable Country Spec Moorland cloth seats, County trim door cars with pockets and a full array of instruments that are as close to basic as you're going to find. It even still has its original dial/twist radio to add to its classic charm. It's simple and was built to have a no-nonsense approach. Even the awesome hard top roof remains in great shape, and you'll love the added protection it provides. With the classic removable half doors, rear split tailgate and fold down windscreen you can turn this ole girl into the ultimate open top cruiser in no time. As well as a brand-new Exmoor Trim tan canvas soft top and galvanized frame set fitted now. You know it's time to fall in love with a well-done classic Land Rover. The manual is easy to use, and the 4-wheel-drive system is arguably the world’s best. All the original equipment remains intact to give you that genuine experience. With celebrity status of classic Land Rovers on the rise, it’s also now “ubercool” to own a classic Land Rover now as David Beckham has one. Pictured last ummer, David Beckham in his very own pastel green Series III. Clean classic Land Rovers are none too easy to find and if adventure is your game, if you appreciate the history of an old classic or need a museum or collector quality Land Rover or just want a sweet ride to drive around town or looking for a vehicle that stands apart from the rest, this Series III will be sure not to disappoint. Especially for a buyer looking for a “Life's too Short to Drive a Boring Car".

1995 LAND ROVER - RANGE ROVER CLASSIC

          1995 Range Rover Classic - 25th Anniversary Edition - 4.2 V8

Here is a wonderful example of a 1995 Range Rover Classic - 25th Anniversary Edition, a true time capsule. This 1995 Land Rover Range Rover Classic is one of a claimed 250 25th Anniversary Edition examples produced for the North American market. All distinguished by an Aspen Silver metallic finish, this celebrated vehicle features an Ash Grey Connolly leather interior, detailed with Dark Granite piping. The passenger compartment is complemented by an Ash Grey center console and full pile carpeting throughout and is further distinguished by an embossed Anniversary Logo in the Connolly hides of the front headrests. A 25th Anniversary Edition jewel badge marks the tailgate, while TWR sparkle silver five-spoke wheels further accent this esteemed vehicle. It’s for sale on consignment from a local Land Rover enthusiast with clean NC Title in hand. Land Rover revolutionized the auto industry in the 1970’s with the launch of the luxury Range Rover model. No one had ever before seen such an outstanding 4x4 vehicle. Style, comfort, speed, outstanding off road as well as on road ride to the highest level it was so ahead of its time. During its lifespan the Range Rover Classic developed from a luxury Land Rover for the farmer to a high-tech powerhouse in the 4x4 market. The Range Rover is generally regarded as the world’s first truly luxurious SUV.

Powered by a 4.2-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Equipment includes a sunroof, air conditioning, power-adjustable front seats, a cassette stereo, and a coil spring conversion.

The 1995 model Range Rover Classics had a different interior than all previous models. Land Rover needed to make some changes and modernize the Range Rover over its first generation’s 25-year run. So, they put together a stylish more modern soft dash which resembles the Discovery I’s dash at the time. The punchy 4.2-liter engine has covered 187k miles and is still running strong as can be. The V8 sends power to all four wheels through a ZF 4HP22 4-speed automatic transmission, Borg-Warner transfer case, and locking center differential. It has more than enough grunt and power to feel very comfortable around town and on the highway. You can cruise comfortably at and above highway speeds without compromising comfort. The rear C-pillars and window trim are finished in black, while chrome front and rear bumpers are fitted.

1995 was the only year for soft-dash Range Rover Classics, and this example shows well and retains its original dash fittings, including the original stereo. The interior is finished in 25th Anniversary Ash grey Connelly leather seats with dark granite piping with embossed headrests and burl walnut trim. It has the rare factory air suspension. Woodgrain trim accents the dashboard, doors, and center console, while the headrests feature 25th Edition debossing. Features include air conditioning, power-adjustable front seats, and cruise control. This RRC is offered with factory literature, a binder of service records, original window sticker, two original key fobs, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title. All service records, kept and invoiced in its vehicle binder since 2003. All documenting many years of service history. So, you have a strong-running package that upholds the tradition of the hearty Range Rover lineage.

              SALES TERMS & CONDITIONS

We import and hand pick each of our rare and unique vehicles based on quality, value and desirability. We strive to provide the most thorough and accurate description of our vehicles. Before you commit to buying a classic and older vehicle please inspect it carefully, view all pictures and videos, ask any questions regarding its age, model, spec, mileage, description, condition etc. To ensure that you are perfectly happy and comfortable with your purchase. These are not perfect, showroom quality or new vehicles, so please don't expect them to be. Vehicles such as original Land Rovers are becoming collectable classics that are full of character and charm, however, they will have age related issues and wear regardless of their condition. We are dealing with vehicles that are over 25 years old and whilst we endeavor to give you the accurate information this is not always possible. Prior ownership, history and service items and maintenance to the vehicle is unknown, unless otherwise stated. Old Land Rovers always drip and sweat some fluids, all normal and just the nature of old Land Rover engines and part of Land Rover ownership. We do our best to ensure that your purchase has been accurately described and checked. We provide approximately 60+ pictures, as well as driving, exterior, interior, undercarriage and walk around videos of every vehicle offered for sale. Very few companies provide this much vehicle information or offer this much detail to potential buyers. We spend significant time inspecting and disclosing detailed items on all of our vehicles for sale; however, at the end of the day, we are ultimately not you. The description is an opinion only and should not be considered a complete description of any or all faults; it may not be relied upon, nor taken as fact or otherwise a representation or warranty of any sort. The information provided is solely for convenience. So please study all pictures, videos and information carefully to ensure that you are perfectly satisfied and comfortable with your vehicle purchase. Please note, we do not build or restore vehicles. Vehicles are sold “as is” and “where is” with all faults known/unknown and with no implied warranty. They are original, classic and iconic vehicles; they are not for everyone, they are unrestored vehicles, and we are not a vehicle restoration company. Owning a 25+ year old vehicle requires consideration and reasonable expectations for a vehicle of this vintage and age. We expect you to drive the vehicle in a manner appropriate for its age and condition. By buying a vintage used vehicle, you fully understand the risks and potential issues related to the purchase of a vintage vehicle over 25 years old.

              Buyers

Please read the entire description and view all pictures before purchase. Please only purchase if you are completely satisfied with the vehicle and have the funds to commit to the purchase. By placing a bid/offer/agreement on a vehicle we have for sale, you assert that you have read and agreed to our Terms & Conditions and understand the risks of purchasing a used vehicle. Additionally, by signing this document, you enter into a binding contract to purchase the item you have successfully purchased. Your opportunity to negotiate is prior to the sale. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

              Payment

Payment methods to complete the sale are cash, certified checks, money orders, bank finance checks, 3rd party loans or bank wire transfer. Buyers are responsible for their own State taxes, registration and fees associated with the vehicle.

              As Is Disclaimer

Both parties acknowledge that the vehicle described under vehicle information is sold “As Is”, without warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied and the buyer has tested and inspected the vehicle to his or her satisfaction. By signing this document, the buyer accepts full responsibility and liability for any repairs incurred following the date of sale, as well as any costs related to vehicle registration, safety certification, State inspection, or transfer of ownership. All risks and responsibilities pass to the buyer once this document is signed.

              Shipping & Vehicle Pick-Up

We assume no responsibility for damages incurred once the purchased vehicle leaves our premises. If the vehicle is going to be shipped, full payment must be received before the vehicle will be released to the transport company. Shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed upon during the sale.

              Buyer's Inspection

Pre-purchase inspections (PPI) are encouraged and we are happy to help arrange them for a buyer, at the buyer’s expense. The buyer is responsible for all inspection charges and fees.
